- : - Reno County in Hutchinson, Kansas sucks! - : -

They are the highest taxed county in the state. We got this little letter from the Treasure office telling us we have 3 days to pay 212.00 for a trailer that we used when my son was riding motocross, personal property tax they claim.

Well having been ripped off by this damn Treasure office for way to many years I called them to find out what crack they had been smoking. Legally you do not have to tag a trailer that is less than 2000 pounds. But my hubby being the nervous and law abiding citizen he is, tagged it. When we tagged it the seller did not charge us sales tax, so we had to pay that up front just to get a tag we really did not need. Fine, hubby is happy and I am out 200 dollars. Whatever.

So since we tagged it, we know how them 212.00 for the year of 2003. I told the woman I lived in Iowa, that I should not be charged personal property tax on something that is not even in the state. She told me that was my fault that I did not tell them I moved. Oh yes, my bad. I totally forgot I had to tell a complete fucking stranger that I moved out of state. Son of bitches!

Well when she found I was not residing in Kansas, she thought she was going to be smooth and ask my address. I told her that if they really wanted that 212.00 that they could put the effort into getting it, and to come find me!

Dumb Asses!

More than likely the hubby will write them a check. Which will chap my ass, but he is a freak when it comes to stuff like that. He will be looking over his back if we don’t pay it!

But trust me, I will do everything I can do fight this! That is 212.00 I could spend on my children. 212.00 that could feed us. I will be damned if I pay 212.00 to Reno Country!

Federal Judge Says 2,000-Foot Rule Is Unconstitutional

POSTED: 5:48 PM CST February 9, 2004

DES MOINES, Iowa -- A federal judge struck down an Iowa law Monday that requires sex offenders to live at least 2,000 feet from schools.

The Iowa Civil Liberties Union had challenged the law, claiming it violated offenders' constitutional rights. The ICLU said the law banished offenders from most cities and towns.

The law required sex offenders to live at least 2,000 feet from schools, day care centers and other child care facilities.

Judge Robert Pratt said the law requires sex offenders living in violation of the law to provide incriminating testimony against themselves, which violates the Fifth Amendment.

The law has been applied to sex offenders who committed their crimes prior to implementation of the law in July 2002.

Well hell, why don't we just offer the young children up in the neighborhood, as "welcome-wagon" presents when these fucking pervos get out of prision. Okay this is a subject I really have to veer away from. I just have real issues with anyone having any type of "rights" when it comes to violating young children, or god forbid killing them.
